Beer Labels

99032281_d5e8426fd5_m.jpgBeer time! Sometimes I drink beer, depends on my mood. Whenever I go pub, I sometimes like to have a large glass of beer or bottle and chat with friends for good time.

There is something I really enjoyed to see a brand name with several different kinds of label - Molson Breweries. I enjoy seeing people checking the beer label words and share their humor.

I found the picture [see right] through Flickr, and no one at our Pittsburgh Deaf Club mentioned this beer label. If you are Deaf, and part of beer 101 guy and happen to see this "Sign Language" label, you might want to keep it as collection and hang it in your home as decoration.

I googled the list names of Molson beer labels I would like to see 'em all, and it's hardly to read this page. I also tried to find beerlabels.com does not give much detail about this.

Roethlisburger Sandwich

Roethlisburger

Ben "Big Ben" Roethlisberger, second year Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback is going Super Bowl! Big Ben and Steelers are now fever in Pittsburgh, and yesterday my co-workers and I went Peppi's restaurants in downtown of Pittsburgh, we tried the Roethlsburger menu, it turned to be big delicious - made with ground beef, hot sausage, fried onions, scrambled egg and American cheese on Italian bread. It goes for 7 dollars, matching its namesake's number.

We would like to order this again if Steelers win one for the thumb.. Roethlisburger in high demand!

Food Grocery Savings

I tend to go grocery store at Giant Eagle with stores found mostly in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and Maryland. I spent drink, food and cleaners that what I need to support my living alone.

Take a look the receipt I scanned today:

reciept.jpg

I saved $11.24 with coupons, bonus coupons (?) and Giant Eagle Advantage Card, that is twenty percent off from $43.78down from $55.02 . Pretty good savings, eh? Let's see if I can spend for 365 days, I'm doing to do the math:

The average month I spent grocery store at Giant Eagle for $212.86.

With twenty percent off from $212.86 down to $170.29, I saved $42.57.

For 365 days/12 months per year, I spent $2,554.32 on foods. With 20% off brings the total of $2,043.46, I saved $510.86. This is good enough for me to buy digital camera or golf cart set or Xbox 360 system.

Oh, also I forgot one more thing, Giant Eagle have cross-promotional reward program, FuelPerks (entry #679) which I spend every 50 dollars for groceries, I earn ten cent discount per gallon for fuel as whatever you fill up the gas.

Giant Eagle grocery store becomes my primary shopper because it is less than 3 minutes drive from my home. There are other grocery stores in western Pennsylvania: Foodland and Shop 'n Save. Both are more than ten minutes to drive, but I rather to go Giant Eagle to save gas from driving my car.

Mooo!

My co-worker sent me my favorite resturant, Chick-Fil-A Cow Appreciation Day on Friday, July 15th. It says:

Dress up as a cow, visit any Chick-fil-A resuaurant, and get a free combo meal.
Buying a new cow costume cost more money than Chick-Fil-A combo meal. Silly. Also they offer free entree if a customer wear apiece accessory such as a cow-printed hat, purse, t-shirt, vest, etc.. Silly again.

Mocha Mousse Brownie Trifle

Tonight I'm going to my friend's for party: bring food, chat, and play games. I have made unique dessert I borrowed from my step-mom's cookbook:

100_0003.jpg

Mocha Mousse Brownie Trifle

Our Test Kitchen used some of the extra brownies to create this
tempting, time-saving trifle. It's a snap to assemble with a packaged
mousse mix and whipped topping, yet it looks so special that folks
will think you fussed.

5 cups cubed brownies (1/2-inch cubes)
1 package (2.8 ounces) mocha mousse mix
1 carton (12 ounces) frozen whipped toppings, thawed
¼ cup English toffee bits or almond brickle chips Grated chocolate

Place half of the cubed brownies in a 2-qt. serving bowl. Prepare
mousse mix according to package directions. Spread half over the
brownies. Top with half of the whipped topping; sprinkle with toffee
bits. Repeat layers of brownies, mousse and whipped topping.
Sprinkle with grated chocolate. Refrigerate until serving.

Yield: 10-12 servings.

I tried a bite this from my stepmom's, and it is very delicous, a champion. Give it a try and you will never forget it.

Super Choc Dipped Strawberries

Today is Super Bowl, I felt this is like globally national holiday. My deaf friend invites me to go Super Bowl party at her husband's own bar in North Side, near north from downtown Pittsburgh. I decide to make something goodies for dishes to bring at the party to make everybody happy from me.

Today I made chocolate dipped strawberry, this is my first time to make. After done making this, I tried a bite of this, and it was totally delicious, totally Super Bowl orgasm.

Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

I'm going to share you the recipe:

CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES

6 ounce bag of milk chocolate morsels
4 tablespoons of shortening (or butter)
12 large strawberries

Wash and dry strawberries. In a double boiler, melt chocolate; add shortening and mix well. Place waxed paper on a cookie sheet close to the chocolate. Cut the strawberry into half, or into 1/3 depends on size. Hold the strawberry by the stem and carefully dip into the melted chocolate; place on cookie sheet and repeat till strawberries and chocolate are gone. Put the tray of berries in the refrigerator to harden. Take strawberries out of the fridge at least 1/2 hour before serving.

Hawaiian Fruit Salad

Yummy, I ate Hawaiian Fruit Salad dessert, made by my step-mom, Jo-an.   The dessert really hit me!   Here are tasty recipe:

HAWAIIAN FRUIT SALAD
Ready in 45 minutes or less
A simple dressing made with flavored yogurt coats this refreshing combination of fresh and canned fruit.   It looks spectacular when presented in a pineapple boat and sprinkled with toasted coconut.

      1 whole fresh pineapple
1 can (15 ounces) mandarin oranges, drained
      1 - 1/2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
      1 - 1/2 cups green grapes, halved
      1 - 1/4 cups pina colada-flavored or vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup flaked coconut, toasted, divided
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon coconut or vanilla extract

Stand the pineapple upright and vertically cut a third from one side, leaving the leaves attached.   Set cut piece aside.   Using a paring or grapefruit knife, remove strips of pineapple from the large section, leaving a 1/2-in. shell; discard core.   Cut strips into bite-size chunks.   Invert shell onto paper towel to drain.   Remove fruit from the small pineapple piece and cut into chunks; discard peel. Place shell in a serving basket or bowl.
In another bowl, combine the pineapple chunks, oranges, strawberries and grapes.   Combine the yogurt, 1/4 cup coconut and extract; spoon over fruit and stir gently.   Spoon into pineapple shell.   Sprinkle with remaining coconut.   Yield: 6 servings.
