It will not give better picture than the VP-100. The video quality will be exactly the same. Why? Because they are still using the H.263 video codec in CIF resolution - the same as VP-100...it's primarily better UI and so on, but the video is the same...
It's disappointing that we won't be getting h.264 video codec with options for resolution up to 1024x720. h.264 give a hugely superior video quality over h263 even in CIF.
I suppose it does depends on the broadband speed that you get in USA. In the UK all broadbands (ADSL) are upgrading to get a minimum of 400Kbs upload with 8Mb download which will help with better video, and then with LLU giving 1Mbs upload and more with up to 24Mbs download.
