Food Grocery Savings

I tend to go grocery store at Giant Eagle with stores found mostly in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and Maryland. I spent drink, food and cleaners that what I need to support my living alone.

Take a look the receipt I scanned today:

I saved $11.24 with coupons, bonus coupons (?) and Giant Eagle Advantage Card, that is twenty percent off from $43.78down from $55.02 . Pretty good savings, eh? Let's see if I can spend for 365 days, I'm doing to do the math:

The average month I spent grocery store at Giant Eagle for $212.86.

With twenty percent off from $212.86 down to $170.29, I saved $42.57.

For 365 days/12 months per year, I spent $2,554.32 on foods. With 20% off brings the total of $2,043.46, I saved $510.86. This is good enough for me to buy digital camera or golf cart set or Xbox 360 system.

Oh, also I forgot one more thing, Giant Eagle have cross-promotional reward program, FuelPerks (entry #679) which I spend every 50 dollars for groceries, I earn ten cent discount per gallon for fuel as whatever you fill up the gas.

Giant Eagle grocery store becomes my primary shopper because it is less than 3 minutes drive from my home. There are other grocery stores in western Pennsylvania: Foodland and Shop 'n Save. Both are more than ten minutes to drive, but I rather to go Giant Eagle to save gas from driving my car.
