i711: Internet Relay Service

i711Logo.gifI was surfing Grant's blog and found very good relay service on Internet: i711.com, a text-based relay service with live Flash web interface communications, and address book and tools stored on user's account database.

The neat part is that you can choose to have a operator gender, language and conservation style to set the relay call.

From now, I like this relay operator a lot, better than global relay services: Sprint, AT&T and MCI.

Today, I learned form Grant showing the examples of new i711 toolbar for Internet Explorer. I find myself that there are some disadvantages in i711 toolbar - the bar might give less space inside the web browser screen, along together with 3rd party toolbars such as Google and Yahoo toolbars. The i711 toolbar only support on Internet Explorer, not on Firefox as my primary web browser on PC and Mac.

i711's new addition with toolbar: ClickRelay which you can click any phone number on any web site with one click. Did you say any web site? Yahoo Local also works very well, and I experimented with MSN Local and Google Local, and some of their pages doesn't work with link associated with phone number that goes to i711 home to call.

Overall, I like i711.com, and it is very easy to memorize to type in URL address, and find my database stored telephone numbers while I am using web browser on different computer in different places. Thumbs up, i711!
