An almost year ago, I posted an entry about Konfabulator, the widget hanging on the desktop. Good thing I only used this for 30-day trial and did not pay in full. Until Mac OS X Tiger 10.4 released along with new Dashboard Widgets, and I am happy with this: fast, free and more customize than Konfabulator. There are over 650 Dashboard widgets found in Apple website, and every week the widget is getting cooler than I can imagine.
As you see widgets in my Dashboard desktop, each widget defines:
Bloglines Notifier - Allows you to see the number of unread posts in your Bloglines account at a glance.
Google Maps Widget - View maps and satellite imagery of a given address using Google Maps technology.
iBart - Bart Simpsons, everybody loves him! Nothing much I can to do with him.
Hula Girl - enjoy watching her dancing all the time in Dashboard.
Gas - Simply enter your zip code then displays the lowest gas price where you live in custom number of mile range.
SysStat - Allows to view memory usage, CPU usage, network stats, uptimes, load averages.
Stickers - Post the words to hang on dashboard to remind me if I forgot something.
Weather - five day forecast in my local area.
Magic Widget - 8 ball. Ask your question and the 8 ball result an answer.
Dictionary - Need to quick look up the meaning of the word.
Unit Converter - Convert: speed, area, currency, energy, temperature, time, length, weight, pressure, power and volume.
Twemco Clock - old-fashioned 1960s clock.
Capture - Powerful and dynamic screen capture widget.
MiniBatteryStatus - Monitors battery status, charge percentage and remaining battery time.
Storij - Storij (pronounced "storage") provides up-to-the-second info on how much space is left on my hard disk.
A Day in History - Shows significant historical events that took place on the current day or any selected day.
CSSREF - A CSS property list for only to web developer.
