Since I bought PlayStation Portable last Thursday, March 24. I have observed PSP some time, and here are some things that you might not know:
The Good: Everything. PSP got games, movies, music, photos, and wi-fi. I had free PSP movie, Spiderman 2 they even have subtitled.
The Bad: If I already own a movie on DVD, and want to purchase it again on UMD if I want to watch this on my PSP to go, it could waste my cash and space.
The Good: I can use PSP Video 9, an elegant application that converts several digital video formats including MPEG, AVI to PSP format. I don't need to buy UMDs, I can sync my PSP with my computer and off I go.
The Bad: Will some video such as television shows; movies include subtitled? I have not seen it yet.
The Ugly: If I want to put most recent new pictures on PSP, first of all, I have to download my digital camera into computer and then use USB to connect, transfer the pictures to my PSP.
The Bad: I tried to figure how to delete a picture(s) on PSP. I have to plug USB to my computer, and simply, delete the picture(s) by using my computer.
The Good: I bought Wipeout Pure, my first PSP game. This is damn fun, and I am happy that I can have some fun of playing that game during my 45-minute commuting.
The Ugly: Since I have portable devices such as Gameboys, digital camera, and 2-way pagers. I have dropped less than two times each device for its life span. I know myself that I'm going to drop my expensive new PSP in future. As Electronic Gaming Monthly periodical magazine noted that their PSP popped out four feet onto a hard surface and the result is: it worked OKAY. The UMD drive door would never quite shut all the way again, and it started making loud noises while loading, otherwise the game worked well.
The Good: I'm glad that I already have wireless router, and I even tried to connect my PSP wi-fi network, and it says it is connected really beautifully. I can download Wipeout Pure for new tracks (it will be out soon) into my memory card to play extra fun.
The Ugly: Since I have 32MB memory card, I might purchase more memory card in future: pricey $70 for 512MB.
