No more "daddy" for Red Sox

I’d be damned. Damned no more New York Yankess.

Game 1: NEW YORK 10, BOSTON 7 (NY leads 1-0)
Mussina had near perfect game through seven innings during 8-0, and Sox nearly came back.

Game 2: NEW YORK 3, BOSTON 1 (NY leads 2-0)
Pedro Martinez has a new “daddy.” His name is Jon Lieber of NY Yankee pitcher.

Game 3: NEW YORK 19, BOSTON 8 (NY leads 3-0)
Damned Yankees. We predicted Yankees likely to go World Series any time.

Game 4: BOSTON 6, NEW YORK 4 (NY leads 3-1)
12 innings, 5 hours and 2 minutes played ended at 1:22 a.m. "Wow, Fenway Park was on fire Sunday. Can you believe the Son finally broke the cur… What? They’re down 3-1, with only one home game remaining?" blog quoted by Paul Katcher.

Game 5: BOSTON 5, NEW YORK 4 (NY leads 3-2)
Ortiz brings Red Sox another amazing comeback in 14 innings, 5 hours and 49 minutes played. None of the other 25 teams that fell behind 3-0 postseason series has ever come back to win – and only two of them pushed it to six games.

Game 6: BOSTON 4, NEW YORK 2 (Series tied, 3-3)
Schilling built Red Sox to win in New York with his bloody sock and shut 50,000 New Yorkers up.

ESPN Notes: The only teams in North American major pro sports to overcome 3-0 deficits in best-of-seven series were both in the NHL: Toronto against Detroit in the 1942 Stanley Cup finals and the New York Islanders against Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1975 quarterfinals.

Game 7: BOSTON 10, NEW YORK 3 (Boston wins, 4-3)
Red Sox made history big time. They become the first major league team to 3-0 postseason series deficit. Red Sox is the first team to beat New York Yankees in postseason. Unbelievable.

The curse is not over yet for Boston -- they must win World Series to break the curse since 1918.
