Bogus EGM

Back in November 2003, I received the Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM) periodical magazine in the mailbox, and I found out that I won a EGM’s Letter of the Month ‘Luigi living a lie’ (see my previous entry: Luigi knows ASL I posted back in last week of September 2003.) EGM says I am getting the prize winning for Letter of the Month:

Congrats, David Fulmer! As our Letter of the Month winner, you got a Nyko Air Flo EX Xbox controller coming your way. Keeps your hands cool, doesn’t it? Because of the fans inside.

Seven months later, I still haven’t got the prize. What is happening? Let me tell you a story back in January:

Noe Valladolid, California native and gamer, he found a picture entry in my blog, about being collector of EGM since 1989. He sent me an email and asked me to scan an article of his EGM November 1996’s Letter of them Month. I sent him a picture file back to him. I asked him a question: how long does he receive a prize from winning Letter of the Month? He replied, he never gotten a prize. Six months after winning of his Letter of the Month, He sent a letter compliant to EGM twice, and EGM never replied back. He still never got a prize from EGM for almost eight years.

I felt I will never receive a prize from EGM’s letter of the month forever – same thing goes to Noe. Should I respond back to EGM about this prize? The fans inside them could see EGM is full of bullshit about not responding back. EGM never informed me before they printed Letter of the Month and published in the magazine.

Well, Trust no one to EGM and Jiff Davis. Pass it on to gamers who won EGM Letter of the Month in past EGM archives.
