Mad about Job

Last month, I got newspaper ads from Pittsburgh Post Gazette, the opening employment positions for WQED:

Web Designer/ Developer:
WQED Multimedia has an immediate opening for a part-time Web Designer & part-time Web Developer. Responsibilities for Web Designer include: Primary responsibility for design & usability of WQED web site, and will assist in updating content. Require skills: Fireworks or Photoshop, CSS, Dreamweaver . Optional skills: JavaScript, Flash. Responsibilities for Web Developer: Primary technical resource for WQED website development and assist in updating content. Required skills: HTML, Perl, mySQL. Optional skils: PHP, JavaScript, Dreamweaver. Although both positions are part-time they include benefits. Candidates should email their resumes jobs@wqued.org.

It fits me and my positions so perfect!   I sent email to WQED for my resume.   WQED Pittsburgh is a leading public broadcaster with television, radio, publishing, educational, and web branches.

Last month week, I finally received an e-mail from WQED human resources:

Hi, we received your resume and would like to schedule you for an interview.
This is a part-time position (20 hours) and will remain part-time, so if this is a problem, please let us know ahead of time before the interview. We are looking for candidates who strictly want part-time. If you are still interested you can call me at 412-622-1487 to schedule a day and time. We will be interviewing from Dec 8th - Dec 12th.

Sincerely,
Jennifer

I called that phone number through relay service on my computer, left the message on answering machine. I felt that I am little worried that they might not e-mail me back about this, so I decided to call again for few times, until today (finally) she is on the call. We talked through the relay on our conservation.

I am not very happy. She was on hurry, and she declined me. She did not answer my question. I am not finished talking with her, she left.   She didn't expect which I am deaf when we talked on the relay service, and she doesn't understand the real meaning of deaf and disabilities, which she had not experienced with relay service.

Well, This is all too common for people with disabilities, they are discriminated against me.

UPDATE (4:12 pm) - I recieved e-mail from WQED Human Resource assistant, and she changed a mind because she told me the web director is really interested and want to have interview with me next week. Oh well, the human resource assistant didn't apologize me about the situation last week.
